Applicants holding foreign passports must reside in Thailand on a long-term visa in order to apply for a Japan visa in Thailand.
1. Visa Application Form (Please click)
2. Passport
- (Original passport valid for at least six (6) months and photocopy of passport’s personal data page and visa page bearing the Thai non-immigrant visa or Thai non-immigrant visa extension stamp (evidence of domicile/residence in Thailand);
3. ID pictures measuring 3.5” x 4.5” cm size.

6. Work Permit / Original Work Permit along with a copy (for foreigners)
7. Certificate of Employment
If holding a Marriage or Dependent Visa
- English marriage certificate (certified by the Department of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, issued within the last 3 months)
Valid Re-entry Permit stamp (unused)
Valid Thai visa page in passport (covering full travel period)
If holding a Work Visa
- Original, valid Work Permit
- Proof of Employment
If company owner : Certified English company registration (from DBD) and employment certificate stating position, income, and job status
If employee : Employment certificate in English (stating position and salary)
If holding a Student Visa
- Valid Re-entry Permit stamp (unused)
- Valid Thai visa page in passport (covering full travel period)
- Student certificate and transcript (issued within 1 month)

Earrings, necklaces, and all types of contact lenses are not allowed.
Background must be white.
Photo size: 35 mm wide × 45 mm high.
Photos must be taken within the last 6 months.

- Document(s) showing relationship, such as a house registration copy, marriage certificate, or ID card (in English)
- Copy of the sponsor’s passport or national ID card (1 copy)
- Bank certification letter issued by a Thai bank, stating the account holder’s name and confirming that the sponsor will cover the applicant's expenses (name must match passport)
- Bank statement (in English) of the sponsor for the past 6 months, showing clear transaction history with the latest update not older than 14 days
